Whether you're already a customer or just starting out looking to work with us, here are some quick questions and answers about freight forwarding.

1. What is Phoenix Freight?

Phoenix Freight has established extensive business partnerships with 142 countries and regions around the world, and can provide comprehensive transportation solutions such as air transportation, sea transportation, road and rail transportation. If you are not sure which method is most suitable for transporting your next stop, we Recommendations can be provided based on your shipping timeliness and budget needs.

2. Who can use your cargo transportation services?

To ship with Phoenix Freight Forwarding, you must be a business.

3. Where do you ship the goods to?

Anywhere! Phoenix Freight works with more companies and countries than any other trucking company. We have a global network and experienced local staff.

4. How much does it cost to transport the goods?

The cost will depend on the country of origin, the country of destination, the weight of the shipment and how quickly you want the shipment to arrive. The best way to estimate costs is to contact us to get a quote for a single shipment.

If you ship frequently or in large quantities and would like to explore partnership opportunities, we would be happy to discuss.

5. How long does it take for the goods to be delivered?

There are many factors that affect delivery time. View estimated shipping times for air freight and our ocean LCL shipping schedules to find the next ocean freight departure from your designated port.

6. Do you transport dangerous goods?

Yes, we transport certain types of dangerous goods cargo. For more information about our shipping, please contact us about our Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Materials Policy.

7. How do I start shipping my goods?

If you would like to get a one-time quotation, please contact our salesperson. If you have questions about the documentation or packaging required for shipping, please contact your Phoenix freight salesperson.

8. How to calculate the billable weight of a piece of goods?

The billable weight of the goods is the total weight of your goods (the sum of the total weight of the goods and the weight of all packaging including pallets) or the volumetric weight of the goods, whichever is greater. For more details, please contact our salesman.

9. How to calculate the volumetric weight of goods?

Measure your shipment in centimeters or inches. Length × width × height. This will give you the volume. Divide the volume by the density ratio of your shipping method. For detailed information about air, sea, road and rail transport density ratios, please contact our salesperson.

10. What types of goods can I ship to a country, and are there any restrictions?

Especially when it comes to imports, some goods are subject to government control and require a license.

Before signing any transportation contract, it is a good idea to research import regulations.

Goods may also be regulated under trade conventions, such as the Washington Convention (CITES), which protects endangered species such as rare timber, or the Kimberley Scheme, which regulates the trade in diamonds. For more details, see the Customs section of our Shipping Glossary.

11. Do my international goods need to go through customs?

Your goods must pass through customs before being loaded onto the container ship and after being unloaded at the destination port. Whether you are the shipper or consignee, you will most likely be responsible for import or export customs clearance and pay taxes (also known as "duties") on your goods. Depending on the Incoterms® chosen, both import and export may be your responsibility.

It is best to discuss customs clearance with your overseas partner before shipping.

12. How do I know how much the customs duty charges for my goods are?

The amount you need to pay depends on the nature of your goods.

To ensure smooth customs clearance, you need to first accurately describe the goods you are transporting. Ensure customs applies the correct duties and taxes by providing the International Standard Commodity Code - the Customs Code (HS). It is established by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and is publicly available.

Within the EU please refer to TARIC

Within the UK, refer to the UK tariff code

Within the United States, refer to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule

Within Canada, consult Canada Border Services Agency

Within the Mercosur countries of South America (Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina), see Nomenclatura Comun do Mercosur

13.What types of issues are covered by my shipping charges?

Under international conventions, freight forwarders and carriers have limited liability for loss or damage to goods. In accidents covered by international conventions, your compensation will be calculated based on standard negligence liability clauses, rather than the actual value of your goods.

Although we handle every shipment with care, incidents may occur that are beyond the control of carriers and freight forwarders. Freight liability insurance does not cover natural disasters, such as flooding.

14. Cross trade

When goods are transported from origin to destination without entering the country in which their consignor is registered, the movement of goods is defined as cross trade.

15.Delivery

What information do I need to provide to pick up my order?

You need to provide any of the following:
